Managing Partner & Co-Founder

François is an economist and investment strategist with almost 20 years of international experience as an economist in policy-making, capital markets, sustainable finance and development finance. He held roles at the International Monetary Fund, the Government of Canada and, most recently, in capital markets. François has lived and worked in the U.S., Europe and Canada and lectured in several universities. He is currently affiliated with HEC Montréal, where he teaches economics and finance at MBA/Executive levels. In addition to his 2002 master's thesis on Corporate Social Responsibility and Financial Risk published in 2004, François published several books, academic articles and op-eds in the fields of economics and finance. A father of four, François is an avid cyclist and outdoorsman.  


Partner & Co-Founder 

Félix is an engineer-MBA with over 15 years of professional experience in energy,  environmental policy and sustainable finance. Félix started his professional career in Africa on development projects involving the financing and construction of bridges. He then worked on environmental policy for the Government of Canada including as Director of International Climate Change Negotiation under the UNFCCC and as Chief of Staff to the Deputy Minister at Environment Canada. Since 2015, Félix has been working as a consultant for think tanks, private companies and international organizations such as the OECD and has also authored several articles, op-eds, and book chapters on green growth, energy and environmental policies. Félix currently lives in Brazil with his wife and son and is an avid runner and struggling kitesurfer.


ESG research analyst

Nicola has been working 7 years as a hedge fund analyst with a focus on alternative credit, macro and CTA strategies. He has a quantitative background and was responsible for the entire investment analysis of a large Swiss Investment Advisor. He then worked for one year in a hedge fund before starting exploring sustainable strategies on his own initiative. He is now covering investments in SDGs thematics like Water, Oceans, Agriculture, Energy and Microfinance. Nicola holds a B.Sc. in Economics from HEC Lausanne and a M.Sc. in Finance from the University of Zürich. He is also an avid hiker and karateka.


Antoine has over 5 years of experience in finance, economics, and data science. Working on data initiatives for a large Japanese software company, he previously was a quantitative economist producing global macro research, asset manager evaluations, and ESG analyses for institutional investors. Antoine holds a M.Sc. in Financial Economics from HEC Montréal. He studied finance and econometrics at the University of British Columbia and the University of Lyon. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder. He is also a passionate drummer and is slowly but surely learning Japanese.



Laurent Desbois is an economist and fund manager with more than 30 years of experience in the financial sector. Having started his career at CDPQ in charge of its currency management, he moved on to work in New York and London, at Merrill Lynch and Citigroup. He then founded and managed Fjord Capital Management for 10 years, a currency risk manager, before returning to CDPQ as managing director, responsible for Tactical Asset Allocation. Laurent occasionally writes economic op-eds in La Presse and for the C.D. Howe. He holds a B.A in Economics (Honours) from McGill University and a M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Montreal.

Martine has more than 15 years of experience as a teacher and manager in the educational sectors in Canada and the U.S. She also worked with several private sector organizations to improve their communication strategies and abilities and increase their impact in the media. A dedicated cyclist, she’s the mother of four children and sports a can-do attitude. Martine manages all back-office operations and global market development for SMS.
